Madera seniors demonstrate their mastery of the Graduate Profile through a capstone project, which includes a portfolio and a Showcase presentation.
A collection of artifacts and reflection statements consisting of your best work throughout high school. Your artifacts need to relate to the Graduate Profile Elements.
Due by the end of 1st Semester
The contents of the portfolio are evaluated in classes throughout high school. The final portfolio is reviewed according to a checklist to verify that all required components are present.
A presentation before a panel where you highlight the elements that are your strengths and challenge, including a question and answer segment.

The showcase presentation is evaluated according to a rubric by a panel of teachers and community members. There are nine criteria that the panelists evaluate.

The Graduate Profile is a bold vision of student success that outlines the skills, mindsets, and competencies young people need for success in college, career, and civic life. It is also a “North Star” that guides district decision-making and focuses instructional decisions on important student learning outcomes.
In addition to meeting high school credit requirements, all students must demonstrate mastery of the graduate profile by earning a passing score on a digital portfolio and a showcase presentation.

Students who transfer into MUSD in grade 11 or 12 may receive adjustments to their Portfolio requirements. Ask a school administrator about your particular situation.
